Biography of the author:

Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Amimul Ihsan Barkati (Urdu: مفتى سيد محمد عميم الاحسان بركتى‎) popularly known as Mufti Amimul Ihsan, (Bengali: মুফতী আমীমুল ইহসান) was an Islamic scholar of the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence.  He was born on 24 January 1911 (22 Muharram, 1329 Hijri) in Bihar state, Munger district in a village named Pachna in India. His father was Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Hakim Abdul Mannan and his mother was Sayyida Sajida. He was the second born amongst 4 brothers and 3 sisters.  He migrated to present day Bangladesh and passed away there.

The Shaykh acquired his academic learning from the famous Calcutta based Aliah Madrasah in 1926.  Mufti Amimul Ihsan compiled over 55 works. See pp. 25-28 of the attached pdf for a full list of his works.

The Shaykh passed away on the 27th of October 1974, 10th Shawwal 1394 Hijri at the age of 63.  Rahimahullah.
